CTS - Homepage

Access to CTS website

Each time you access the website of the Collaborative Transplant Study (CTS) this action is stored in a log file with the following data:

These data are solely analysed to optimise the website service. They are not circulated to third parties for commercial or non-commercial purposes.

Use of cookies and analytical tools

On the websites of the CTS so called cookies are in use. These small text files are saved on your computer and are needed to distribute the load balancing of the servers as well as to increase the security of our applications. These cookies are only valid until the end of each session. You can prevent the use of cookies via the security settings of your webbrowser. This may cause a limited use of the services offered on our website.

Furthermore, the CTS uses the analytical tool "Piwik" on its websites. The open-source software Piwik contributes to the website optimisation and uses cookies to analyse the access to the websites anonymously. The information on your use of the website generated via cookies is neither used for a person-related analysis nor for profiling and will not be forwarded to third parties. Optimisation of the website and its services is the unique intention of the analysis.

Passing on of personal data of visitors on CTS websites to third parties

Data generated in course of a visit on CTS websites will be passed on to third parties solely when the CTS is obliged to do so based on a legal commitment or a court decision or if this is necessary for prosecution and law enforcement in case of attacks on the infrastructure of the internet.

In case of an order of information material, brochures or products your data will solely be used within the CTS and the company commissioned to process this order.

Furthermore, a passing on to third parties for commercial and non-commercial ends will not take place.

Links to websites of other providers

Our websites contain links to websites of other providers. We do not have any influence on these providers regarding their compliance to the data protection regulations.

You will find links (=cross references) on the pages of the CTS website to third party websites. These are labeled as such. Following the activation of these links a new window will be opened and the user will be transferred to the offer of the third party.

In the case of direct or indirect references to external internet pages which are outside the area of responsibility of the CTS, liability will exclusively come into effect in the case of CTS having knowledge of its content and were it to be technically possible and acceptable for it to prevent the use in the case of illegal content.

The CTS therefore states explicitly that, at the time of the link being put in place, the corresponding pages were free of illegal content. It has absolutely no influence over the current and future form and over the content of the linked/connected pages of these third parties. It therefore explicitly distances itself from the content of all linked/connected pages which are changed following the link being put in place.

CTS - Clinical Data

In handling of clinical data, CTS, as part of the Heidelberg University Hospital, respects the European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into effect on May 25, 2018. For detailed information on GDPR please visit https://gdpr-info.eu/. All data on the CTS Webserver used for statistical analyses are anonymized.

The clinical CTS data are strictly separated from this web presence and are located on servers behind the firewall of the Heidelberg University Hospital to which only selected staff members have access. CTS does not provide any personal data that might lead to identification of a specific person. Excepted from this regulation are parties that provided the information to CTS; this enables assignment of clinical follow-up information to patients.

"Center-specific analyses" for any third parties are not performed by CTS. All digital data transfer with participating centers and registries is protected through TLS 1.2 encryption, the industry standard for secure web communication.
